behind the gate

a window and a seat

July 28, 2008 · 2 Comments

this old house has a long window seat in the dining room.  a creepy old cushion got kicked to the curb and an old duvet cover (an amazing fifteen dollar!! deal at anthropologie years ago) is sitting in its place at the moment.  my excitement over making new curtains got curbed a bit when the bank statement popped open and i realized moving ain’t cheap.  so for thrift’s sake, the duvet cover will soon be making its home above the window seat in the form of a roman shade.  let’s just say we’ll be testing my new found sewing skills.

the weekend was busy with more unpacking, an anniversary date to ortanique, a fabulous haircut by the fabulous angelina, turkish delight and baklava from the bakery across the street, and the never-ending game of moving piles of stuff around hoping that eventually they’ll find their own cozy spot without having to move yet another pile of stuff.
